House Warming Presents are the Best!

House warming presents are SO awesome!  Well...let's be honest...presents are AWESOME!  My wonderful friend Sonya gave me a glass canister filled with all kinds of goodies I might need in my new home.  Dish soap, sponge, hot pads, candle.....and of course this great glass canister.  I LOVE glass jars!  And colorful kitchen spatulas.  I don't have to tell me how weird this sounds.

What a great, simple, yet heartwarming gift.  And since all my crafting supplies and cards are in storage please consider this my Thank You Card to you Sonya.

For the Love of Rope

These pictures are from 2 weeks ago before Bubby broke his arm.

We were in Lowe's and he wanted with all his heart for me to buy him a bundle of rope.  So, I bought it and, I kid you not, he has slept with it ever since.

He has used it to build a swings, tightropes, and traps of all kinds.  When everyone finds out he broke his arm they asked, 'was he in his treehouse?  on the swingset? jumping from a tree?'

Nope.....nothing dangerous....just fell down the stairs.

Balloon Fest

We took the kids to the Centralia Balloon Fest this past weekend.  I'm not sure if they knew what they were in for but by the time Bubby saw the first balloon all lit up he couldn't stop laughing.

They both were just giddy with excitement.

There were 40 balloons all lit up in the night sky.  It really was a beautiful thing to see.

A couple of balloons were giving short rides a couple of yards up and then back down.

It was a beautiful evening!  Perfect weather and the balloons were really amazing looking.

Peaceful Friday

Laundry on the line.

Surprise! Lilies popping up all over the yard since we had a little rain.

Trees!!  I have lot's of trees in my yard now.  Of course my sinuses are about to kill me.  Need to move back to a corn and bean desert apparently.

First Day of School 2012

Another year another new school.  They were both VERY excited to head off for the first day.  Watch out 4th and 1st Grade!!

Bubby came into our room at 4:30am this morning and said, 'Mom..did you know today is SCHOOL!'  I said, 'Yes's school about 4 hours.  Go back to bed!'

He was back up at 7am, dressed and ready to go at 7:10am.  I told him maybe we should eat a little something and brush our teeth first.

Walked them the half mile to school today and then I went for a run.  Now I'm off to organize and get their room in order.

Well Protected Junk

I'm not complaining here.....but this is just too funny!  We had packers and movers for this move and sometimes when others pack your belongings they do it in a way that I would NEVER do.  I would have found these 3 items and pitched them but not MY packer Dan.  He wrapped this straw, candle & tube of gel icing with a great deal of not one but TWO pieces of paper.

They were VERY well protected!

In Case of Chocolate Emergency

This present was for my amazing friend/trainer/motivator Lisa's Birthday last wee.

In the middle of cleaning out my basement and right before Bubby broke his arm I decided this present had to be made.  So, before my Cricut and vinyl were packed away for no telling how long I put this gift together.  I had to guard this Hershey bar with my life!   The kids were all over it!!

I'm wondering how long it will be before the glass is broke and the wrapper crumpled in the corner of the frame?  Thank you Lisa for always pushing me to do and be better!!  Love ya!!

Sitting Around Breaking Family Heirlooms

I love this milk glass lamp.  It belonged to my aunt's mother, Ellie.  She was my Birthday Twin and I thought the world of her.  It sat in Sissy's room for a couple of years but now doesn't really match her decor.

So, I sat and looked at it on the shelf thinking I don't want this lamp anymore and I don't have room for it.....BUT I hate to get rid of it.  I talked myself into keeping it and then I promptly knocked it over.  Sigh....not what I had in mind.

When it Rains it Pours

The Movers come this morning.  Between renovating the new house and cleaning and organizing before The Movers come it's been crazy busy around here.  And just when I didn't think it could get any crazier Bubby fell down the stairs yesterday and broke his arm.  I handled it great like I do every emergency situation....I screamed like a crazy woman and very nearly puked.  I'm a GREAT mom!

I guess he thought since we have lived here 3 years and have never been to the hospital or doctor we should visit at least once.  With the help of meds he's actually doing pretty good this morning.  He's sitting up on the couch eating The Mover's donuts.

As if the hospital wasn't enough I was pulled over by a cop at 5am this morning.  I totally deserved a ticket but was given a warning.  I thank you Mr. City Police Officer.

Hopefully the rest of the week goes more smoothly.
