Happy Monday! McDonald's has an awesome coupon booklet out right now. They are only $1 and you can get 12 different free treats. Use it twice and it's paid for! My local McD's isn't honoring them but all the other locations are. I completely fed the kids yesterday for free....hamburger, apple dippers and milk. ALL free! Yipee!! You should be able to get them through October at your local McD's and they are good through December. I was told they would take them past December but be sure to check first.

I've been signing up for a lot of freebies online. I have received tiny little boxes of Kashi and Honey Nut Cheerios cereal, granola bars, and a number of feminine hygiene products.

This came today.....a new Always sample....

Is this REALLY their tagline?? Is it REALLY all that amazing??? I wonder how many men in a boardroom it took to come up with tagline?

I'm not jealous...REALLY!

So, I told you about how the Extreme Homemaker people where in the town where I used to live right? I told you how all my friends are hanging out with celebrities. Two of my friends even got some of the guys to hold the Alohaknitters yarn in a picture.Yeah...Ty's face pretty much sums it up...I don't know why he is holding the yarn either. Personally, I think she should give me the yarn cause I couldn't be there to partake in all the craziness. I'll let ya know how that works out for me.
But that's ok...I'm not jealous of any of this cause ya see....I have my OWN Extreme Homemaker. We are working on the front bedroom of the house we are renting. It's HUGE and I can't wait for it to be done. I have yet to see Ty or anyone else from the EHMO crew but that's ok..........I'm not jealous! Really!

Lions Carnival

We enjoyed a local festival called The Lions Carnival. All proceeds from the event go to the Lions Club and I would have to say I think they did a really good job. It was just enough parade. Just enough candy. Just enough food and just enough rides.
They had a small parade around the square. The lion was there of course. All the rides were child sized and only cost .50 cents!! I think this is wonderful! They all got to go on a couple of rides a piece and it didn't cost a fortune! Even Daddy enjoyed himself.

A dedicated fan.....

.....or my friend the stalker. That's what this post should be titled...'my friend the stalker' but I think that might bring up some crazy Google searches so we won't go there.

The town where we used to live in is being invaded by the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition people. We live there for 4 1/2 years and NOTHING...NOTHING happens. We move away and TV crews show up...what's up with that?? All my friends are going crazy. I have to admit that I really don't watch the show all that much. Every once in awhile I'll watch part of it or I'll DVR it and fast forward through everything to watch the ending. I like to see how the house turns out. But I'm getting kinda crazy about it too!! It's very exciting and I wish I was there. It is almost like I'm there with all the people I know involved in and around the project but....still I'm here in the middle of corn and they are all up there running around like crazy women.
So many people I know are working on the house or are a part of this wonderful event. I have friends that are friends of the people who are getting a new home. I have friends who are EMT's on the site and other's who are loaning equipment. I have friends who live down the road and get to witness all of the mania and then I have Nikki.....a VERY dedicated fan.

What you have to understand is Nikki knows people. You ever want the dirt on someone she knows it. You want to know if someone has written bad checks then she is the person. She can tell you all the info you need to know! She has friends at hotels, friends at coffee shops, friends at gas stations and at bars. She has people calling her at all hours giving her updates on where the cast and crew for the show are. She got up at the crack of dawn, followed black SUV's and crawled through a cornfield to get shots of the house and cast and crew before anyone else. With the help of Farmfoley she was able to get some great shots of the farm and wonderful family who are getting the new home.

She also had contacts and figured out where Ty and his band were playing last night. Her and some of my other friends were able to sit and listen to them play for 3 hours last night. She said it was very relaxed because there were no other crazy fans around....just them and the guys in the band. She said everyone was really nice and the guys all talked to them and acted very cool. I do have to say one thing....Nikki ALWAYS gets her man! (Look at that smile! Could she be anymore excited?!)

Good Morning Beautiful

This was the view out my east door yesterday morning. This is the same view this morning.....tad bit foggy wouldn't ya say?

My Crazy Weekend

I pulled my sister over to the side of the coupon users on Sunday. While staying with family this weekend I took her to Kroger to buy one bottle of Tylenol for only $1.09. Then we drove over to Walgreens where I got a Glade Sense and Spray airfreshener and Mr. Clean sponges for a total of .38 cents. Then we went to Target and at this point my sister got so excited about the price she was going to pay for razors she actually high-fived me in the store!! Now she is a total believer.

It's a good thing we were able to get all these great deals cause this is what we saw when we looked out the window Saturday morning.....

my husband's truck! I heard it hit at 1:24am but it was so dark and raining so hard I couldn't see it. I just kinda hoped it wasn't what I really heard and went back to sleep. The truck goes through a Hurricane! without a scratch and then we have a thunderstorm and this happens! We are just lucky it wasn't one of the vehicles we drive everyday...which was sitting right next to it!

Happy Monday...I Mean Tuesday

I found these surprise photos Bubby took on my camera this morning. Can't ever have too many pics of your feet!

My new addiction...COUPONS!

Even though all last week I was alone most of the time I still couldn't find the time to want to know why? I have a new addiction. Checking coupon blogs!! (Luckily my OTHER addiction of McD's Coke helps me do the couponing so it's all good.)

For years I have been seeing these women on tv who use coupons to save hundreds off their grocery bill every week. I just could not figure out how they did it. I would get a .25 cent coupon for Charmin in the mail and think big deal! I can still go to Aldi and get it way cheaper.

Well, I've got it figured out now. Here is my new secret weapons. I've been following 3 different savings blogs: Mummydeals, Wantitall4free, and hip2save. They do all the running around for me and find all the deals. They post these deals everyday. They have taught me how to take that .25 cent coupon and combine it with a sale, an in-store coupon and a double coupon promotion and get it for next to nothing, free, or make money on it.

I'm going to start sharing some of the deals and tricks I've been finding out there. Like, did you know you can take a manufacturer coupon you get in the paper and a in-store coupon for double the savings? You have to watch the endcaps at the stores and looks for sales. Use your coupon with the sale and stock up! Many stores like Kmart, Shnucks, and Albertsons have double coupons all the time or at least once a month. Use them on their sale items and score free items. CVS and Walgreens always have in-store specials that allow you to purchase items for free or make money on the item.

I have only been doing this for a couple of months and I have enough cleaning and personal hygiene products to last us almost a year. I paid very little or nothing for all of this. You have to watch the ads and save up your coupons. Hopefully many of you are in an area where you have stores. I only have a Walmart nearby. If I want to take advantage of deals at CVS, Walgreens, Target or Kmart I have to travel 45 minutes away. I try to combine as many deals as I can on the days I do get to the city.

Good luck and keep checking back cause I am now addicted to couponing and will be sharing it more deals!

Danger in the Heartland

Just as I put Bubby down for a nap this afternoon a crop dusting plane starting going over the house. I couldn't believe how close he was getting!! Farmerfoley talked about her crop dusting experience here and I would have to say I agree. It was kinda unnerving. He has crop dusted the fields around the house before but I guess I haven't been home when he was flying DIRECTLY over the house. YIKES!

My camera isn't all that great so I could only get 2 shots of him. He was SO CLOSE and flying so fast it couldn't keep up! I kept wondering if I should go and get Bubby out of his upstairs bedroom in case this Kamikaze pilot couldn't pull up in time.
Now I have decided we can't breath for the rest of the day cause I don't want to breath any of the chemicals he's spraying.

Trying to be a big girl

As we all know I have completely irrational fears about things that go bump in the night. I do not like to stay by myself. I'm perfectly fine during the day but the minute it gets dark I want all the curtains closed and the doors locked. If The Hunter is with me I'm fine but this week he's been gone ALL WEEK LONG to Nebraska. Apparently OUR cornfields are not good enough for him he needs to check out other peoples.

By the way....check out this road! Our new road commissioner is a rock star! Up until last week the road to our house was HORRIBLE. You could only go about 30 miles MPH or risk bodily injury. It reminded me of some of the roads Ewan and Charlie took in Long Way Round . If you haven't seen this movie I highly recommend it. Fascinating! I baked him some cookies to show my appreciation....the road commissioner not Ewan McGreger. Not that I wouldn't bake him cookies but he has never drove by my house that I know of.

Sorry, I am all over the place this week. A whole week of ALONE time with a 3 and 6 year old can be rough. I couldn't go and stay with anyone else because the kids have school and NONE of my family and 'friends' could come and protect me. But that's ok...I'm a big girl and I did it!

Sissy and I are reading Little House of the Prairie and there is a chapter about a lady paying Laura Ingalls to stay with her and her daughter on their claim. The way to get a claim back then was to prove you had lived on the claim for 7 months out of the year. The problem was most people couldn't afford to live on their own claim without an outside income. They would have to have money for seed, tools and food because they couldn't start growing food immediately. So, this lady's husband was working in town and she had to go out there by herself with her little girl and she was scared to death and asked the Ingalls' if Laura could stay with her.

Laura's Ma thought it so strange this lady was scared. Ma was a better woman than I. I could not have done it. I would have gone crazy! Even though The Hunter has been gone all week I do know I've got it pretty good. I can drive to town, check Facebook, email, talk on the phone, text, and watch tv. I don't have to listen to nothing but the wind in the grass and the coyotes howling. I'm not sure I would have been a very good pioneer woman. I most likely would have had to get out of the wagon at St. Louis. After reading that chapter last night I didn't feel so sorry for myself...but I'm still glad he'll be home tonight.

My Little Man

My little man started preschool this week. He has been so excited and couldn't wait to get started. He is only going 2 days a week for a couple of hours. The first day he woke up and wanted to leave the house at 7am. I had to keep telling him it wasn't time yet. Don't worry his backpack isn't heavy. He's carrying Cheerios to share for snack.

He walked right into the classroom and started playing. He couldn't wait to see his new teacher and all the toys. He has had a really good week and wants to go everyday.
