In a Matter of Minutes

I gave Bubby a washable marker and some paper. Sat him at the table and then went to the bathroom. 20 seconds later this is what I found....
The fact that he has that particular shirt on is just priceless.

Busy Saturday

We have had a busy Saturday and the day isn't even over. Our local Ag Breakfast was today at the fairgrounds. We enjoyed locally grown and produced food with about a 1,000 other people. (Except for the milk and juice. Why they can't get local milk when were are about an inch from 'America's Dairyland' is beyond me.)

After breakfast Hubby had to judge a pretzel recipe contest. Cracked me up they chose HIM to judge food. The man will eat ANYTHING and after he is done eating his only response is 'It's alright'. So, after taste testing everything he comes out of the tent and I asked him how the dishes were. He said...and I quote...'They were alright.'
We enjoyed the park. Lot's of fun and games for the kids. Tonight we are going to enjoy some local fireworks...if the mosquitoes don't carry us off first!

Flipflopping to Another Project

Can you even believe I turned THIS fabric....

into THIS bag!?

For all my friends and family who can sew just stop reading now cause it will be painful.

As if I didn't have enough knitting project laying around I decided to sew a bag. I found these fabulous reusable shopping bags on Esty and wanted them SO bad but after showing them to different people they all assured me I could make these for a fraction of the cost. So, I decided to prove them all wrong...haha! I found fabric so yummy I could eat it with a spoon....as my friend Esther says. After MANY hours I finally figured out how to line the bag with an invisible seam AND put the handles in all at the same time.

I'm VERY excited about my bag if you couldn't tell. I just might make more....

Update/Disclaimer: After MANY hours of trying to get my head wrapped around sewing in the liner I finally went online to my fabulous friend Meagan, who has a 'HomeEc degree that really isn't a REAL degree', to ask for help. She found me a wonderful link to help me with the sewing together process. Thank you!! Just wanted to keep it real!

A Mommy Night Out

I met up with my, blogless 'Not That Interesting', friend last night and we had pedicures. It was supposed to be relaxing but we were talking and laughing so much I thought they were going to throw us out (shocking I know!). After they put the electric sanders away that they used on the bottom of our feet they used hot rocks between our toes to increase circulation. "I can't believe we paid extra for them to put rocks between our toes!" LOL!

These are my feet.
These are her feet. She thought they looked like bear claws. We should have taken pics of ourselves...that would have been more interesting but I thought the fact that my toes were as shiny and pretty as a new car paint job was way MORE interesting...at least to me anyway.

My 'Not That Interesting' friend thinks I have a lot of pictures of feet on my blog. After looking I discovered she is right. But I think it is because I am 'Fatter than Average' so I purchase a lot of shoes and take pics to show you guys. Shoes don't care how much cookie dough you have eaten. Shoes never tell!

After the pedicure we went to our favorite local Mexican restaurant and laughed and laughed and laughed. Some how the word 'lemon' became the funniest thing we had ever heard. It was a wonderful Thursday night and I can't wait to do it again...but this time I won't be paying extra for the river rocks.

Daddy's Helper

'Me do it! Me do it! Me do it!' Bubby is finally putting 3 and 4 words together at a time and this is what we get. That and 'Sissy did it....pank her!'

Off to the Farm

Yesterday we visited with some friends. They live on a nearby farm and I thought the kids would love to see all the animals. They have lot's of cute little baby goats, cranky chickens, one rabbit and 3 horses.

Sissy was all over the animals. Couldn't get enough of them! Bubby was completely overwhelmed. Too many animals, too many tractors, and too many barns. I would have thought he would be in heaven but he kept wanting to go back in the house. We finally forced him up in a tractor and then we couldn't get him out. He is something else...haha!

The girls played horse doctor. There were many emergencies that required lot's of bandages and drama...can't ever have too much drama.

Bubby just basically aggravated the living daylights out of the girls. If there was a stick he had to pick it up and hit them with it. If they wanted to play with the horses so did he. If they wanted to play with dolls then he wanted the same doll. If they wanted to ride bikes he wanted their bikes. He was the perfect little brother...haha!

An Older Woman

Could Bubby just adore 'Madisalie' anymore? Look at his face. He just can not get enough of this little girl.
Friends came over last night and we had s'mores and the kids built this tent home under the big fir tree. (Translation: The men made fire and we ate sugar.) It was a nice evening.

Pr!vo...I'm in Love!

I'm so in love with my new shoes. Not only are they Pr!vo's and so super comfy, they were ON SALE with FREE shipping!! You just can't get any better than that. I think I need them in every color.

Disclaimer: I know they are not flip flops but I HAD to get them. I have also been wearing them a LOT. Wonder if I should change my name to Pr!vomamma?

Happy Birthday Sissy!

I made her these 'knee length' socks. It took FOREVER cause our knees are a little higher than the average. Even though it's 90 there today I hope you wear them everyday. :)

Sneaky Sneaky

I found this picture of Bubby on the photo card the other night. Self portrait I believe.

Skinned Him!

I have decided it is just too hard to take Bubby to the salon to have his hair cut. It doesn't really cost all that much but it seems like we are there every other week and it really cuts into my day...and HE WILL NOT SIT STILL for the hair cut! It's insane. I feel so bad for the hairdresser. Bubby is spinning like a top and she is running around and around him trying to cut his hair.

So, the other night I gave in and let Hubby cut his hair. It turned out pretty good. He looks so grown up now.

What a Pair of Lungs!

This is my friend's new little baby girl.

This child LOOKS all sweet and cute but let me tell ya...she can SCREAM like nobody's business. She has reflux and about 15 minutes after she is nursed she will start screaming (and screaming and screaming and screaming....and it never stops!!). Poor little dear.

So, to keep her from screaming her mommy wraps her. It's keeps her happy about 95% of the time. It's so amazing! I wish I had known about all these different wraps when my kids were little. It ALMOST makes me want to have another....like I said...ALMOST.

Here we are at the mall. I left my kids with Grandma. We went to Starbucks (I had pumpkin bread!) and we shopped all day and then we even went to Macaroni Grill BY OURSELVES! for supper.

I wish we lived closer....think of the money we could spend together...heehee!

'I'm A Honky Tonk Girl'

While we were visiting family in April (I know...I'm WAY behind) I got a chance to see Loretta Lynn....thanks to my Aunt ME.

It felt like such an honor to hear her sing. It was amazing!! The whole day was such fun. I left the kids with their Daddy and my mom, sister, aunt and myself went shopping. I wasn't responsible for a thing all day!! It was great.

We shopped, ate out and went to the show. The only thing I bought all day long was a pair of sunglasses. I tried too. I really tried to find something but nothing.... That is so typical. I had all this luxury of time to try on clothes and REALLY look at stuff and nothing. Oh well...

My Aunt ME was also able to score me some tickets to see Merle Haggard in May but I was so sick I couldn't go. A chance of a lifetime to see Merle Haggard and I was in bed. Then she calls me from the show to tell me Merle (cause we are on first name basis) is sick also and won't be making the show but guess who filled in for him??? Gretchen Wilson, Cowboy Troy and Kid Rock!! I about died!! I just rolled over and went back to my fever induced coma. It was not a good day....

While I Slept....

While I slept.....

my mom and sister worked their little fingers to the bone.

Notice how I have on a fleece jacket and I'm wrapped in fleece. It was like 90 that day and everyone else is hot. I had a 102 temp and I was freezing! It was the start of my horrible illness. I think I'm about over it now...2 weeks later.

Anyway...back to the jelly. There were lot's of strawberries to be picked and lot's of jelly to be made. It is yummy!!
